The NBA All Star Weekend has finally arrived. Tonight at 7 PM, celebrities such as Ne-Yo, Kevin Hart, Trey Songz and Usian Bolt will partake in 9th Annual Celebrity All Star Game. More events are scheduled throughout the weekend.

The NBA has always had a close relationship with the celebrity world. Now, with the NBA All Star Game approaching this weekend, Houston is beginning to liven up. Last night, Houston natives Bun B and Kirko Bangz threw a party at The Bamboo lounge along with celebrities and NBA legends such as Gary Payton. To honor the official kick off of the All Star Weekend, which will last from February 15-17, celebrities will have their chance to show off their b-ballin skills first.

MIAMI — Ray Allen’s role in Miami is yet to be totally determined. And that clearly doesn’t bother the NBA’s leading 3-point shooter.

Allen and Rashard Lewis signed their free-agent contracts with the Heat on Wednesday, giving the NBA champions a pair of veterans who bring tons of experience and versatility to a lineup already featuring LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

Today, Jason Kidd agreed to a 3 year deal worth $9 million dollars. As a Knicks fan, Kidd should be a welcomed addition and can provide some much needed mature leadership on the team. Amare Stoudemire is too busy busting his hand on fire extinguishers and it sometimes seems like Melo think he is still playing in college, just chuckin up shots, putting on a sour face and not living up to his status as one of the NBA’s elite. When you think Kobe, Lebron…I don’t think Melo falls into the category. He is still too immature and has yet to prove he can carry a team to the promise land. As of yet, he still hasn’t played in a Finals game.

However, the bigger story of the day may be the Houston Rockets 4 year offer to breakout star Jeremy Lin. As the whole world was made aware of last year, Lin came out of nowhere and put up fantastic numbers after being cut by first the Golden State Warriors and then the Houston Rockets. He was a large part of the reason they Knicks even made the playoffs when he sparked that mid-season winning streak. Now, the Rockets have realized their terrible mistake and are offering the unproven guard a whopping offer somewhere in the range of $30-40 million. For a guard that has started merely 25 games and averaged 15 points and 6 assists, $30 million dollars sounds like way too much. The Knicks have already gone on record stating that if someone offered a Lin a backloaded contract (Houston is offering $5 million the first two years and $10 million for two years after that) it would be hard for them to match.

Just after we got the “So Sophisticated” visual yesterday starring Rozay and Meek Mill, the whole team jumps on for their video for Power Circle off Self Made Vol. 2. The song also features a slick verse from Kendrick Lamar.
